“We lose ourselves in books, we find ourselves there too."

TRIGGER WARNING:  imagery of concentration camps, torture, murder, blood, violence, gore, prejudice, mention of rape, excessive profanity

Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar are trying to get back to normal―they may have saved Crescent City, but with so much upheaval in their lives lately, they mostly want a chance to relax. Slow down. Figure out what the future holds.

“Our love is stronger than time, greater than any distance. Our love spans across stars and worlds. I will find you again, I promise.”

The Asteri have kept their word so far, leaving Bryce and Hunt alone. But with the rebels chipping away at the Asteri’s power, the threat the rulers pose is growing.

“To destroy monsters, we become monsters”

As Bryce, Hunt, and their friends get pulled into the rebels’ plans, the choice becomes clear: stay silent while others are oppressed, or fight for what’s right. And they’ve never been very good at staying silent.

“What is your magic, angel, but an instrument of death?”

This is a sexy, action-packed, captivating story of a world about to explode―and the people who will do anything to save it.

“We don’t let them decide who we get to be. We’ll carve our own paths.”

Bryce and Ruhn are forming a new sort of relationship, and Hunt is finding his place in a world where he is no longer a slave. While Bryce is still the same irreverent, brilliant, stubborn female she’s always been, she’s also adding a new title to her repertoire—sister. And Ruhn captured my heart with how he’s redefining his relationship to Bryce. As in, not being a total alphahole. The relationship between Bryce and Hunt is also changing. There’s an incredibly strong bond between them, but I especially loved that her protection and care doesn’t only extend to the weak, but to the strong people in her life who need support and assistance. Hunt being one of them.

“Death is the only victor in war”

Night and Day will be high on my list too, their dynamic is so beautiful, am expecting there will be a lot of angst and some forgiveness to come for them in the next book. Aidas will have some bigger role to play, and I can’t wait to find out. So much happens in this one with Ithan, Ruhn and Tharion too, I need to find out what happens next. Tharion ended up being my favourite, I enjoyed his struggles and his tough decisions, it brought more personality to the limelight. I was hoping he would’ve made a different choice at the end but it’s going to be interesting to see what direction his story takes.

This book had a whole had a lot of twists, some of which had me shocked but it works well together. Their world just got bigger and there are lot of possibilities to explore – especially with a cliffhanger like that!

“What she wanted was a true heart to love her, to run wild with her through the forest.”
